A group of party youth on August 13 picked up nomination forms on behalf of former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to enable him contest the flagbearer position of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
The flagbearer race of the NPP is slated for January 31, 2026.
In a brief address to the party faithful who picked the form, Dr. Bawumia expressed his gratitude and promised bold initiatives aimed at improving the lives of Ghanaians, especially the youth.
“All of you, I want to thank all the youth, the youth in this party who have picked these forms for me. You will see that I’m going to come to the table with many ideas for the youth, for the future of this country. A lot of the ideas that I’m coming with are youth-centered ideas,” he promised.

Dr Bawumia noted that, “What will happen to the youth on how we can create jobs and so on, and increase opportunities. So I assure you that all the efforts that you’ve put together today to bring the forms to me will not be in vain. We will make sure I reciprocate with ideas and work that I will be able to do.
Meanwhile, reports monitored by 3news indicates that former MP for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, former General Secretary of the NPP, Kwabena Agyepong and former Minister for Food and Agriculture, Dr Bryan Acheampong have also picked nomination forms to challenge Dr Bawumia.
