Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang on Thursday, August 21, led a high-level government delegation to the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi to observe the one-week celebration of the late Asantehemaa, Nana Konadu Yiadom III.
The delegation included the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah; National Democratic Congress (NDC) Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketia; NDC General Secretary, Fiifi Kwetey; as well as other government and party officials.
The Vice President represented President John Dramani Mahama, who is currently out of the country on a national assignment. She and her team were received at the Kumasi Airport by the Ashanti Regional Minister, Frank Amoakohene, alongside other regional officials.

At the palace, the government delegation mourned with the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, and the people of Ashanti. On behalf of the government, the Vice President signed the book of condolence.

Nana Konadu Yiadom III, who passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at the age of 98, was the elder sister of the Asantehene.
