Football’s world-governing body, FIFA, has requested the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to deny Hearts of Oak rights to register any national players.

FIFA has also banned the club from  registering international players.

This stems from the non-compliance of the 2000 CAF Champions League winners over a decision to settle payment arrears to former Technical Director Rene Hiddink.

A follow-up decision on Thursday, August 21 by the FIFA’s Head of Disciplinary,  Amèrico Espallargas, noted “it appears that, despite the [earlier] Decision, Accra Hearts of Oak S/C (the Respondent) has not yet complied with its financial obligations towards Rene Hiddink”.

“In this regard, we wish to inform the parties that a ban from registering new players internationally and nationally has been implemented by FIFA on the Respondent.”

The ban, according to FIFA, will remain in force until Hearts of Oak settle the debt to Rene Hiddink.

The Ghanaian club is yet to comment on the decision.
