Former Black Stars Team Manager Sabhan Quaye has passed on.

His death was announced by Ghana Premier League side Accra Hearts of Oak SC, a club with whom he rose to prominence as Welfare Officer.

“We are deeply saddened by the passing of our former Welfare Officer, Sabhan Quaye,” the club announced.

“His dedication, commitment, and service to the club will never be forgotten.

“We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time. Rest In Peace, Sabhan Quaye.

“Your legacy will always remain in our hearts. RIP Sabhan Quaye! RIP a true Phobian!”

Full name Sylvester Nii Sabhan Quaye, the football administrator was for years a prominent figure in the Black Stars backroom staff.

He handled player welfare and relations between players and coaches as Team Manager of the senior national soccer team.

Aside Hearts of Oak, he also served defunct Legon Cities before stepping aside from the game.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) recently visited him with its charity arm donating towards his medication.
