Ashaiman Revelations have emerged champions of the 2025 Onua-GC Brand Community League after beating Korle Gonno 4-3 on penalties.

This was after their final game ended 1-1 on Sunday, August 31.

The grand finale took place at the Gbawe AstroTurf after four weeks of gruelling action in four zones in the Greater Accra Region.

It started in Zone 1 at the Mexico School Park in Tema Community 2 on Saturday, July 12, 2025 as eventual champions Ashaiman Revelations were joined by the hosts as the two qualifying communities.

The crew, then, proceeded to Zone 2 in Adjiringanor, where Adenta joined the hosts as the two qualifying communities.

From Zone 3, which took place at the Teshie McDan Park, Korle Gonno and La-Nkwantanang qualified while Awoshie and Okaikwei North made it from Zone 4, held at the Tuba AstroTurf.

The third game saw Ashaiman come from a goal down to beat La-Nkwantanang 2-1, showing signs of going for the ultimate on the day, while the final game saw Korle Gonno beat Tema Community 2 2-1 to make the semi-finals.

Ashaiman drew level to push the game to shootouts, which they won 5-4.

Korle Gonno’s controversial goal against Adjiringanor punched their ticket to the final against Ashaiman Revelations.

The final game became one made for the gods as popular Dancehall artiste Stonebwoy Burniton, who has not hidden his Ashaiman roots since his breakthrough in music, stormed the venue as the brand ambassador of GC Brand.

He called for peace and brotherliness ahead of the final, asking both teams, particularly Korle Gonno, a name with which Stonebwoy’s nemesis Shatta Wale has a song, to ensure fair play.

During the game proper, Korle Gonno drew first blood in the first half through Emmanuel Quaye, who was eventually named Player of the Tournament.

Ashaiman Revelations, however, equalised after an infringement in the penalty area of their opponents left the center referee with no option than to point to the spot.

Former Medeama boy Isaac Yaw Gbovison stepped up to equalise for his side, pushing the game into penalties.

At the end, the team from Ashaiman won 4-3.

With the win, they walked away with the cash prize of GH¢10,000 as well as products and souvenirs from sponsors.
