In a powerful blend of sport, culture, and national pride, the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) transformed Laboma Beach into a vibrant fan zone on September 8 by hosting a live screening of the Ghana vs. Mali football clash.
The event, designed to promote domestic tourism and foster national unity, drew an enthusiastic crowd of locals and international visitors. Set against the scenic coastline, the beach buzzed with energy as fans gathered to support the Black Stars in an atmosphere filled with music, dance, food, and cultural displays.

“This initiative is part of our ongoing mission to use cultural and sporting moments to bring Ghanaians together and showcase our country’s beauty to the world,” said a representative from the Ghana Tourism Authority.

Beyond the 90 minutes of football action, the event offered a rich cultural experience. Drummers performed traditional rhythms, local vendors served Ghanaian delicacies, and tourists mingled with residents — all under the warm evening sky.
The communal cheers and shared emotions during the match created a sense of unity that resonated beyond the beach.
The GTA’s beachside screening marks a growing trend in using tourism as a tool for social cohesion and economic development. By integrating national moments like football matches into tourism experiences, the Authority hopes to boost local economies while strengthening a collective sense of identity.
As the Black Stars fought for victory on the big screen, Laboma Beach stood as a glowing symbol of Ghana’s spirit, resilient, united, and ready to welcome the world.
