In a significant move to strengthen ties and promote regional cohesion, Odeefour Ogyeamansan Boahen KorKor II, the Omanhene of the Sunyani Traditional Area, has paid a royal visit to the palace of Oseadeayo Akumfi Ameyaw IV, the Omanhene of the Techiman Traditional Area.
The Omanhene of the Sunyani Traditional Area, was accompanied by a high-powered delegation comprising sub-chiefs, Queenmothers, and other key dignitaries from the Council. The visit was marked by traditional courtesies and ceremonies befitting the stature of the two great leaders.
The primary objective of the visit was to foster peace, unity, and deeper collaboration between the Sunyani and Techiman Traditional Areas. This initiative is seen as a crucial step towards the broader goal of unifying the entire Bono Region, ensuring its development and prosperity through a common purpose and shared vision.

As the capital towns of the two Bono regions, both traditional leaders underscored the need for deeper collaboration in bringing real development to their people.
The visit also emphasizes that the creation of Bono East Region from the Bono Region does not create any barrier between the two regions and that the need for cooperation should be an urgent matter to discuss to ensure that the two regions do not lag behind.

The engagement provided a platform for the leaders to discuss matters of mutual interest, including cultural preservation, socio-economic development, and strategies to maintain lasting peace within their respective domains and across the region.

A highlight of the meeting was a heartfelt moment of nostalgia, where Odeefour Ogyeamansan Boahen KorKor II recalled his previous encounters with Oseadeayo Akumfi Ameyaw IV.
The Sunyanihene revealed that their paths had crossed years ago during his tenure at the Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB), Sunyani Branch. It was during this time that the Techimanhene, then in a different capacity, approached him with a passionate plea.

Oseadeayo Akumfi Ameyaw IV, recognizing the Sunyanihene’s influence and position, had “pleaded with Odeefour Ogyeamansan Boahen KorKor II to support Bonokyempim to be a successful one.”
