Some irate youth have gone rampage at Hamile in the Upper West region, where the Ghana-Burkina Faso border is.
The youth are accusing officials of the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) of misconduct.
The disturbances began on the night of Saturday, September 13, through to the early hours of today, Sunday, September 14, where the youth burnt vehicle tyres and destroyed the office of the Ghana Immigration Service.
Also, a vehicle belonging to the Service has also been set ablaze.
According to reports, the youth have accused the immigration officials of aiding some gunmen from Burkina Faso to enter the country through the Hamile border.
Additionally, the youth accused an officer of wrongfully arresting a woman from Burkina Faso domiciled in Ivory Coast due to the unrest in her country, and attempting to repatriate her.
According to accounts, the lady was reportedly bundled into one of two vehicles used by immigration officers while on her way to Nandom to visit a relative.
Security in the area has since been heightened as tensions remain high.
