The Atwima Nwabiagya South Municipal Assembly in Ashanti Region, has begun reshaping deteriorated roads in Abuakwa and other communities, aiming to ease the transportation difficulties residents have endured for many years.
The 200metres Abuakwa Dadieso road was part of the main Sofoline- Abuakwa road projects but was abandoned due to compensation issues.
Amid jubilation residents of the area, have finally witnessed the transformation of their long-neglected roads.
Speaking on Ghanakoma morning show on Akoma 87.9FM in Kumasi with Sir John on Monday, October 6,2025, the Atwima Nwabiagya South Municipal Chief Executive, Wisdom Osei Boamah, said, the initiative, part of the broader District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP), has brought much needed infrastructure to an area that has long suffered from poor road conditions.

For years, residents of Abuakwa -Dadieso and other places faced daily challenges due to the dilapidated state of the road connecting the area.
The rough terrain made transportation difficult, affecting access to essential services such as healthcare, education and markets.
Many residents expressed their frustration, feeling neglected and overlooked by authorities.
However, the construction of the road by the Atwima Nwabiagya South Municipal Assembly under the DRIP initiative has sparked a wave of optimism and gratitude among the community.

The new road not only enhances connectivity but also opens up opportunities for economic growth.
Local businesses are expected to thrive as transportation becomes more sufficient, allowing for easier movement of goods and services.
He urged the community members to recognise the importance of supporting the government to achieve more for the area.
He noted that, continued investment in infrastructure is crucial for the area’s development and that the NDC government has demonstrated a commitment to improving the lives of the people.
The MCE therefore, urged the people to support the initiatives of the government.
