The Black Queens have taken a 3-0 advantage into the second leg of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

The first leg, played at the Suez Canal Authority Stadium, saw goals from Doris Boaduwaa, Mary Amponsah and Grace Asantewaa give the Queens the emphatic win on Thursday.

Coach Kim Lars Björkegren had expressed confidence in the squad depth ahead of the game.

Indeed, he was proven right as he goes into Tuesday’s second leg with an advantage.

The winner will qualify for the tournament to be held again in Morocco.

Ghana had placed 3rd in the 2024 edition held in July.
