The Rawlings family continued to receive a host of dignitaries, mourners and sympathizers on October 27.
Notable among them was the Vice President, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang together with the Chief of Staff, ministers of Finance, Lands and Natural Resources, Presidential Envoy, Elvis Afriyie Ankrah and Deputy Chief of Staff, Nana Oye Bampoe.
General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Fifi Kwetey who led the party’s delegation touted Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings’ achievements for women’s welfare as unprecedented.
The Council of State requested that the family considers members in burial arrangements for the late former first lady.
The Ga Mantse, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II was present with his entourage to commiserate with the family assuring them of his unwavering support towards the funeral.
They all took turns to sign the book of condolence.
The late Nana Konadu’s daughter and Member of Parliament for Korle-Klottey, Dr. Zenator Rawlings said the family is still processing the loss.
The foremost First Lady in the 4th Republic died on October 23 at the Ridge Hospital in Accra after a short illness.
Former President Akufo-Addo, former Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, former President of Liberia, Helen Johnson Sirleaf have all been to the Rawlings’ family house to commiserate with them.
Earlier, declared three days of national mourning which ended on October 26.
