The Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) has urged its members in Accra to apply to attend the 29th GJA Media Awards Ceremony, scheduled to take place at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at 12:30 PM.

A press release issued by the General Secretary, Dominic Hlordzi said President John Dramani Mahama, the President of the Republic who is a full member in good standing is the Special Guest of Honour and Keynote Speaker.

“Special Guests are: The Right Hon. Spraker, Alban Kingsford Sumana Bagbin and His Lordship Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie, Acting Chief Justice,” it added.

The GJA Media Awards is the flagship event of the Association, held annually to celebrate and reward excellence in journalism. It is the most prestigious platform for recognizing journalists and media houses who continue to contribute immensely to national development, democracy and media freedom.

“This year’s event is particularly historic as it will be hosted by His Majesty, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, at the revered Manhyia Palace,” Mr Hlordzi stated.

Members from Accra who wish to attend are expected to arrive in Kumasi on Friday, November 7, 2025, and depart on Sunday morning, November 9, 2025.
