The Black Princesses on Saturday suffered a 3-1 loss to their Nigerian counterparts in their second game at the WAFU Zone B U-20 Girls’ Cup in Benin.
The defending champions had clinched a 2-0 win over the hosts in the opening game of the tournament.
However, a penalty to Nigeria and a goal at the death of first half saw the Princesses trailing by 2-0.
Sarah Nyarko halved the deficit shortly after the break but the Nigerians restored their two-goal lead a few minutes from time.
They won by 3-1 as they go top ahead of the Princesses.
Charles Sampson’s side have two more games to play to end the tournament.
They will play as the home team against Benin on Monday and wrap up as the away team against Nigeria on Tuesday.
