The Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson, will today, Thursday, November 13, 2025, present the government’s 2026 Budget Statement and Economic Policy to Parliament.
The Statement will detail the government’s fiscal framework, policy priorities, and spending plans for the coming year.
As Ghana exits the International Monetary Fund’s (IMF) programme in May 2026, it is expected that next year’s budget will outline the government’s blueprint for transitioning from the IMF’s oversight to a domestically driven growth agenda.
Experts are expected to monitor the document for signals on the post-IMF reforms, particularly on how the government intends to tackle debt sustainability, private sector development, as well as public sector expenditure.
The Finance Minister has indicated earlier that the government seeks to prioritise productivity, job creation and economic expansion, hinged on some targeted investments in key sectors such as digital innovation, agriculture and manufacturing.
Also, it is expected that the Budget highlights measures aimed at consolidating macroeconomic stability, improving domestic revenue mobilisation and enhance social protection programmes to cushion the masses that are vulnerable.
