Nigeria’s Super Eagles will come face-to-face against the Leopards of DR Congo for Africa’s sole ticket for the intercontinental play-offs ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The two nations won their respective semi-final clashes on Thursday to book a place in Sunday’s final.

The Super Eagles produced extra-time heroics to beat Gabon in the first game at Moulay Hassan Stadium.

After the Panthers forced the game into extra time following an 89th minute equaliser by M. Lemina, the three-time African champions upped their game to score three goals to seal a 4-1 victory.

DR Congo, in the second game, had to score on the death as captain Chancel Mbemba connected to a corner to register the all-important winner for his side.

They qualified at the expense of the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon, who were hoping the match at the Al-Barid Stadium would have gone into extra time.

The final game between Nigeria and DR Congo will kick off at 7pm at the Stade Prince Héritier Moulay El Hassan.
