Croatia coach Zlatko Dalic has admitted the 2026 FIFA World Cup game against Ghana at the group phase will not be easy.
The 2018 World Cup finalists were on Friday drawn alongside the Black Stars in Group L.
The two sides will face off in the final group game at the global showpiece next year.
Asked how well he knows the Black Stars after the draw, Zlatko Dalic admitted that the Black Stars are a well known side, having even coached “my friend” Asamoah Gyan in the past.
“I hear too much about Ghana,” he told journalists after the draw at the John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts.
“I know my friend Asamoah Gyan, he played with me when I was at Al Ain.”
He said that Croatia-Ghana final Group L game will be tough due to the strength and fastness of the Africans.
“I know it will be a very tough game, especially [because the] Ghana team is very strong, very fast. It won’t be easy for us.”
He, however, indicated that they will take each game step-by-step in order to make it out of the group just as Ghana will have the same “vision”.
“Our goal, our target is to give step by step, not busy. Maybe, it will be a little easy because it is the third game in the group stage but full respect to the Ghana team. I know it will not be an easy match.”
Croatia will open their campaign against England on Wednesday, June 17 before taking on Panama in their second game.
They will then wrap up the group phase against the Black Stars on Saturday, June 27.
