England manager Thomas Tuchel has reacted to the 2026 FIFA World Cup draw held in the US on Friday, December 5.

The Three Lions were drawn alongside Croatia, Ghana and Panama in Group L for the tournament, which starts on June 11, 2026.

Reacting to the opponents to face at the group stage, Thomas Tuchel admitted that not much is known about Panama but not in the case of Croatia and Ghana, regulars at the FIFA World Cup.

“Difficult group, difficult opener. Croatia and Ghana [are] two regulars in World Cups and two proud and strong nations,” he stated in an interview with the BBC after the draw.

“Panama I don’t know much about at the moment, but we will before the tournament starts.”

He described the 2010 quarter finalists as full of talent and with a “big” history in the tournament.

“Nobody should be underestimated. Of course Croatia is the standout nation but Ghana is always full of talent, can always surprise and has a big history in World Cup football,” the former Chelsea coach said.

“Panama will try to make the most of their underdog role. No-one can be underestimated, everyone deserves the fullest respect.”

The 1966 champions will open their campaign against Croatia, six days after the start of the tournament, before taking on Ghana and Panama.
