Voting for Kennedy Ohene Agyapong will dent the future and political career of Sarah Adwoa Safo, the former Dome Kwabenya Member of Parliament has asserted.
She says politics is about interest, and everyone tilts to where he thinks would benefit him, the reason she is opting for the former Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, instead of the former Assin Central lawmaker, despite having two children with her.
According to Adwoa Safo, she is co-parent with Ken Agyapong, who is Bawumia’s main contender in the upcoming presidential primary, the former MP, after serving 12 years in Parliament with various positions, says she believes a Ken Agyapong candidature and subsequently becoming President will be the end of her ambitions and political career, irrespective of the relationship between them as parents of two children.
Speaking during a campaign tour in her constituency on Sunday, December 14, 2025, Adwoa Safo said: “Let’s assume he’s won and gone to the Jubilee House and my CV is there, considering the work I’ve done and served this country and party, if he will be able to look at me and appoint me as a Minister. The nation would have been in flames,” she stated.
She continued that “the Ken Agyapong I know and have bore two children with will not do that. So my political career is at stake. My future is at stake and my future is with Dr. Alhaji Mahmoud Bawumia.”
She further cautioned that voting for Ken Agyapong would cost the NPP the 2028 election, given his history of disparaging women. She said the NDC would capitalise on this to hurt their campaign if they elect him as flagbearer.
She emphasised Ken Agyapong’s behaviour towards women was a concern, citing an instance where he publicly disparaged her. “You’re electing a candidate who insults women in his utterances – how do you expect women to vote?” she asked
“The videos are there, so if you don’t listen and vote accordingly, the NDC is only waiting for you to bring him so they release his videos of insulting women, including me, whom he has two children with,” she warned.
