The Western Regional Minister, Joseph Nelson, has assured the public that the city is dedicated to ensuring a safe and secure environment for everyone during the Christmas festivities.
He confirmed that comprehensive security measures have been put in place for the entire duration of the celebrations, from the preparatory phase through to the conclusion.
In a ceremony held to officially welcome tourists and visitors, the Western Regional Director of Tourism, Henry Yeleduor, warmly invited everyone to experience the city’s signature holiday celebrations.

Sekondi Takoradi has emerged as Ghana’s premier Christmas destination, attracting visitors with its vibrant atmosphere and unique charm.
The city is especially famous for its spectacular masquerade parade, a dazzling highlight where brilliantly costumed clubs showcase the region’s rich cultural heritage and artistry.
During a special luncheon to officially open the “Taadi Bronya” festivities, on December 19, 2025, Western Regional Director of Tourism, Henry Yeleduor warmly welcomed the public to experience the city’s signature holiday celebration.
Promising an exciting and culturally immersive experience, he highlighted that Sekondi Takoradi offers the perfect setting for an unforgettable Christmas.
“Today, we officially open the city for the festive season. This means we are extending a warm welcome to the general public, all travelers, families, and tourists who wish to spend their Christmas here. The Western Region is ready, and we assure you of maximum safety and security.
Unfortunately, around this time last year, we were grappling with cholera. In response, we have carried out extensive cleanup exercises. On Saturday, December 13, we held a regional cleanup, and tomorrow, December 20, all event organizers will be cleaning their respective setup areas. We want to assure everyone that they can feel free to come and celebrate with us.
This is an annual event, and Sekondi-Takoradi has been branded as the preferred Christmas destination because we offer a wide array of events to make your stay truly memorable.” He stated.

Western Regional Minister Joseph Nelson has assured everyone that the city is firmly committed to providing a safe environment for all during the Christmas festival.
To ensure this, he said a comprehensive security arrangement has been implemented for the period before, during, and after the celebrations.
“I would like to invite everyone across the country: if you truly want to celebrate Christmas, the place to be is Sekondi-Takoradi.
We have everything you can imagine—from tourist sites and beautiful hotels to beaches, and so much more. Everything you could expect to make your Christmas truly special is here.
Security is a top priority, and we are making sure that everyone who visits this region and municipality will have the security required to stay, enjoy their time, and return home safely.” Mr. Joseph Nelson Added.
