In a bid to promote economic empowerment at the grassroots, the Member of Parliament for Krowor, Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, has extended financial and logistical support to more than 400 beneficiaries in the constituency.
The support, which forms the third batch of the MP’s quarterly business assistance programme, was tailored to meet the specific needs of her constituents.
More than 400 beneficiaries received cash grants and working tools such as sewing machines, fridges, Aboboya tricycles, and other items to help expand their livelihoods.
The initiative is backed by a revolving fund designed to support small businesses and address other pressing needs within the constituency.

According to the Member of Parliament, the programme also focuses on entrepreneurial skills development, ensuring beneficiaries especially those in the informal sector—can sustain themselves and contribute to community development.
For beneficiaries like Esther Olite, a seamstress, the support is life-changing.
“With the sowing machine I received, I can now expand my sowing business and save. I’m grateful to the MP for this support.” she said, beaming with excitement.
Heads of informal sector groups, including market women’s associations, goldsmiths, and traditional leaders, also received support, underscoring the MP’s inclusive approach to local economic growth.
Agnes Naa Momo Lartey says the goal is to help residents stand on their feet, reduce unemployment, and strengthen local economies one small business at a time.
“Our goal is to empower our constituents economically, enabling them to contribute to community development, it’s something I used to do even when I was in opposition and it used to be done every month but now because of the responsibilities, I am unable to do it as frequently as possible.” the MP said.
Monitoring mechanisms have been put in place to ensure the funds and equipment are used for their intended purposes.
