The Member of Parliament for Bantama, Francis Asenso-Boakye, has reaffirmed his commitment to continue standing with widows and supporting initiatives that promote dignity, care and inclusion.
He added that, leadership must always be guided by compassion.
Francis Asenso-Boakye stated this when he held his annual Christmas engagement with widows in the constituency, providing food items to support them during the festive season.

The initiative, which has become a yearly tradition, is aimed at offering relief and encouragement to widows while reaffirming the importance of compassion and social responsibility, especially during Christmas.
Addressing the gathering, Asenso-Boakye explained that the programme holds deep personal significance for him, noting that he was raised by his mother, who was a widow. He said that experience shaped his lifelong commitment to supporting widows and vulnerable members of society.

“This engagement is close to my heart. I understand the strength, sacrifices, and resilience of widows, and it is important to show support not only through words, but through action,” he said.
The MP referenced biblical teachings to underscore the moral and spiritual basis of the initiative, citing James 1:27, which calls on believers to care for widows and the vulnerable, as well as Psalm 68:5, which describes God as a defender of widows.
He stressed that the food support was a gesture of love and solidarity, meant to ensure that widows in the constituency are not forgotten during the Christmas celebrations.
Hon. Asenso-Boakye reiterated his commitment to continue supporting initiatives that promote dignity, care, and inclusion, of the widows and vulnerable, adding that leadership must always be guided by compassion and love for the needy.
The widows expressed appreciation for the gesture and prayed for God’s blessings upon the MP and his continued service to the constituency.
