The Juaboso District Police Command in the Western North region has arrested three family members in connection with a violent armed robbery attack on a small-scale miner and his workers at Sefwi Abrokofe.

According to sources, the incident occurred on September 24, 2025, when armed men stormed a mining site at Abrokofe and robbed the miner and his team of their valuables.

Following the attack, the security man at the site, Francis Enning, alias Aban, aged 26, was taken in for questioning.

Subsequent police investigations led to the retrieval of a pump-action gun belonging to the complainant, which was reportedly in the suspect’s possession during the robbery.

While Aban was on remand, police intelligence on January 11, 2026, led to the arrest of one of his accomplices, Gideon Tanoh, alias Appee, aged 21, at Sefwi Boinzan.

However, during the arrest, his close friend, Anthony Ahwoi, alias Nana One, a 22-year-old Okada rider from Juaboso, and others attempted to obstruct the police from carrying out their lawful duty.

A reinforcement team from the Juaboso night patrol unit was quickly dispatched to the scene. After a fierce struggle, both Gideon Tanoh and Anthony Ahwoi were arrested.

They were later remanded into police custody by the Juaboso District Court and are expected to reappear on January 27, 2026.

In a further development, on January 13, 2026, police intelligence led to the arrest of another accomplice, Yaw Tweneboah Kodua, aged 21, also at Sefwi Abrokofe. He is currently in police custody and will soon be arraigned for trial.

Investigations have so far revealed that Francis Enning, Gideon Tanoh, and Yaw Tweneboah Kodua are family members and natives of Sefwi Abrokofe.
