The Vice President of Ghana, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, has received a high-level delegation from Japan led by its Foreign Affairs Minister, Ayano Kunimitsu.
During the bilateral meeting on January 15, both countries reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the long-standing relationship that has spanned several decades.
The discussions centered on deepening cooperation in economics, trade, investment, education, and cultural exchange.

The Vice President emphasized that Ghana values Japan’s role as a strategic partner and expressed optimism that the collaboration will open doors for more businesses and investments in both countries.
Minister Kunimitsu highlighted Japan’s appreciation for Ghana’s stability and growing economy, assuring that Tokyo will continue to support Ghana’s development agenda through technical assistance, capacity building, and private sector partnerships.

Also present at the meeting were Ghana’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Sampson Ahi, and other senior officials from both governments.
The gathering underscored the importance of sustained dialogue to foster mutual growth and prosperity.

Both sides concluded by pledging to maintain regular engagements to ensure that the partnership continues to deliver tangible benefits for the people of Ghana and Japan.
