Traders at the Berekum Central Market of the Bono Region are crying over an act of fraud perpetrated on them by a group of fraudsters.
The fraudsters have managed to make away with millions of Ghana cedis with no trace.
The traders who are mainly women numbering over 200 at the Central Market and Senase Market paid different sums of money for loan processing, ranging from GHC250.00 and GHC500.00 with hope of getting loans amounting to GHC5,000.00 to GHC10,000.00 respectively.
The fraudsters gathered the traders from different sections, especially tomatoes line, fish line, materials line, vegetables lines as well as tubers line all caught in the web of the fraudsters who are nowhere to be traced.

The Market Quuen at the dry fish (Mponam) line, Nana Akua Serwaa explained that, the fraudsters told her to lead the discussions because they have come purposely to provide them with loans hence they should register accordingly, but the fraudsters have disappointed them after paying the registration fee.
Madam Beatrice Boabeng, a yam trader added that, after paying all the money requested, the fraudsters are nowhere to be found while all calls to trace for their whereabouts have proved futile.
Abenaa Meayaa, who was also duped, is pleading with the government and the police to come to their aid to arrest the fraudsters since if care is not taken, more traders will fall prey to the fraudsters.
