Ghana has enough power generation capacity to meet demand, according to Energy Minister John Jinapor, who has reaffirmed that there is no load shedding in the country.

In a Facebook post on Friday, January 30, the Minister said he has met with the leadership of key power sector agencies to review the current state of electricity supply nationwide.

He stressed that there has been no load shedding for more than 10 months and that there is no power generation deficit.

Mr Jinapor, however, acknowledged reports of frequent power outages in some parts of Accra and Kumasi.

He stressed that he has directed the relevant agencies to immediately present a “clear and time-bound roadmap to resolve these challenges.”

He reiterated government’s dedication to providing Ghanaians with reliable and continuous electricity and reassured the populace that efforts are being made to address the issues as soon as possible.
