The judge who presided over the case of fetish priest turned evangelist, Nana Agradaa h as surprised many with the decision to reduce her sentence from 15 years to 1 year (12 months).
The Amasaman High Court judge described the original punishment meted out to Nana Agradaa as excessive under the circumstances of the case.
The judge held that while the offence warranted punishment, the severity of the sentence was disproportionate and therefore required a downward adjustment.
He said the original sentence is akin to “killing a common mosquito with a sledgehammer.”
The revised sentence is to take effect from July 3, 2025 , the date of her conviction, meaning Nana Agradaa will serve a total of 12 months in prison.
