President Mahama will deliver his second State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Friday, February 27, 2026 in Parliament.

The President will deliver the State of the Nation Address at 10 am on the floor of Parliament in accordance with article 67 of the 1992 constitution.

“In line with the convention of the House, Hon Members are urged to be punctual and seated in the Chamber by 9:15 a.m. as it is inappropriate for Members to enter or exit the Chamber after the President has entered the House to deliver his address,” the Business Statement of Parliament for the fourth week  indicated.

President Mahama in his second State of the Nation Address is expected to outlined his government’s progress, challenges, and policy priorities, with a strong focus on economic recovery, job creation, social protection, and institutional reforms.

It is anticipated that the President will highlight efforts to stabilise the economy through fiscal consolidation, improved revenue mobilisation, and responsible debt management and other measures instituted to restore investor confidence, reducing inflationary pressures, and strengthening the cedi.

Key amongst the economic policies to be mentioned in the President’s SONA is the 24-hour economy policy. The Authority to spearhead the policy has already been established with purpose to expand productivity, encourage private sector participation, and create sustainable employment opportunities, especially for young people.

The President will also address the challenges in the cocoa sector, including global price volatility and liquidity constraints and the reforms announced to cushion farmers and restore the sector .

Mahama will also outlined his plans to continue investing in roads, energy, and industrial development to stimulate growth and support businesses.

In the areas of infrastructure and health, the President is expected to address Ghanaians on key measures initiated since his one year in office.

The SONA will reveal to Ghanaians the Government’s policies for the future to create jobs, stabilise the economy and improve the standard of living of Ghanaians.
