Assistant coach Rashad Musah of Basake Holy Stars has thrown his full support behind winger Prince Tweneboah, insisting the in-form attacker deserves a call-up to the Black Stars ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Musah made the passionate appeal while speaking to the media after Holy Stars’ hard-fought 1-0 victory over Swedru All Blacks, a result that boosted the Nzema-based side’s campaign in the Ghana Premier League.

According to the assistant coach, Tweneboah’s recent performances despite a brief goal drought underline his quality and readiness for the senior national team.

“It’s been a difficult situation for Prince Tweneboah,” Musah admitted.

“Looking at the last time he scored, for almost about five matches he’s been creating chances and getting into good positions, but he’s not been able to convert them.”

Musah pointed to a crucial one-on-one opportunity in the recent fixture, where Tweneboah came close to finding the net.

“So getting that one-v-one opportunity, we knew very well he was going to score, but there was a slight push from the centre-back. That was the reason the ball couldn’t find the back of the net. He’s one of the best we have in the league.”

Tweneboah has registered seven goals in 22 Ghana Premier League matches this season, establishing himself as one of the most consistent and dangerous wingers in the competition.

His pace, directness, and ability to create scoring opportunities have been vital for Holy Stars both home and away.

Musah believes the lack of national attention on the winger is undeserved.

“It’s just unfortunate that the media are not turning their attention on him. But looking at how he has performed both home and away, he deserves to be part of our senior national team.”

With growing calls for more locally based players to be integrated into the Black Stars setup ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Tweneboah’s name is now firmly in the conversation.

As Holy Stars continue their push in the league, their assistant coach remains confident that if merit and performance are the criteria, Prince Tweneboah has done enough to earn a place in the national team squad.
