The Black Stars have closed down their base in Rhode Island as they get ready for the knock-out stage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Before departure, the technical team as well as the playing body hosted the community to express gratitude.

The Black Stars have been based in Providence and trained at the Bryant University with the Ghanaian community in New England always behind the team.

“The hospitality in Providence made it a home away from home,” said Head Coach Carlos Queiroz.

The team is, therefore, moving camp to Kansas City, where the Round of 32 clash against Colombia will be played.

The Black Stars departed Rhode Island on Wednesday and are expected to touch down same day ahead of the game on Friday night.

“We are grateful to Rhode Island for hosting us,” said Black Stars management Wednesday.

“Our sincere thanks go to the Rhode Island Sheriff’s Department and the Providence Security Team for their professionalism and selfless service throughout our stay. We also felt the incredible support of the Ghanaian community in New England, who made Providence feel like home.”
