Asante Kotoko will be missing right back Lord Amoah at least for the rest of the season after he suffered an anterior cruciate and medial meniscus ligament tear.
Amoah sustained the injury in the Porcupine Warriors’ 2-0 win at Young Apostles.
A statement from the club said after being taken off in the 90th minute following the injury scare, the club’s medical staff arranged for him to be sent to Kumasi for examination.
“Subsequent IMR scans revealed that Lord had sustained an anterior cruciate and medial meniscus ligament tear, an injury that could sideline him for an extended period,” the statement on Monday, March 2 said.
The deputy captain is set for surgery in the coming days, the club said.
