NSUOPUN Fidelity have taken a bold step in their quest for promotion to the Ghana Premier League after club president, Nana Boateng, doubled the players’ winning bonus.
The inducement followed the team’s impressive victory over Sekondi Eleven Wise.
The Wassa-based Division One side continues to defy expectations in their debut season in Zone 2 of the Access Bank Division One League. Many doubted their ability to compete at this level, but the club currently sits third on the league table behind leaders AshantiGold 04 and Cape Coast Mysterious Ebusua Dwarfs.
Their latest triumph at the Gyandu Park sparked jubilant celebrations among supporters, who filled the venue with excitement and merry-making after the final whistle.
In recognition of the team’s performance, Nana Boateng increased the winning bonus to GH₵12,000 in total, with each player receiving GH₵600. The best defender on the day was awarded GH₵3,000, while the Man of the Match received GH₵5,000.
Additionally, some members of the playing staff saw their salaries increased by 100 per cent.
NSUOPUN Fidelity currently have 38 points from 21 matches and remain firmly in contention for promotion to the Ghana Premier League in what has already been a remarkable debut campaign.
