Veteran Nollywood actress and preacher Eucharia Anunobi has ignited discussions on gender roles and financial responsibility in relationships after speaking on the The Honest Bunch Podcast.

According to the actress, a man does not feel fully fulfilled when he depends financially on a woman, stressing that men naturally desire to be providers in their homes.

Speaking candidly on the podcast, Anunobi argued that financial independence is important for men because it gives them a sense of dignity and responsibility within the family.

“Forget it, don’t let anybody deceive you. There is no man that feels like he is a complete man when a woman is feeding him,” she said.

The actress explained that many men want the ability to take charge and provide for their families, noting that relying entirely on a woman’s income could make a man feel less confident about his role in the home.

She further emphasised that a man should ideally be able to cater for essential household needs such as rent, electricity bills and food.

“A man needs to have his own money. Do you have money to pay our rent? Do you have money to pay the light bills? Do you have money to buy food for the family? These are the responsibilities of a man,” she said.

While acknowledging that women can support financially, Anunobi insisted that the primary responsibility traditionally lies with the man.

The actress also highlighted what she described as the emotional satisfaction many women feel when their partners provide for them, even if the woman is financially successful.

“Truth be told, don’t let anybody deceive you. Every woman, even if she is a billionaire, when your husband gives you small money, you are happy,” she added.

Anunobi, known not only for her acting career but also for her outspoken Christian ministry, has often shared strong views on relationships, marriage and family values in public discussions.
