Five of the six families who lost their wards during the first phase of Ghana’s military recruitment exercise have been provided with replacement opportunities, the Military High Command has confirmed. One family is yet to present a substitute.

Speaking to TV3, the military also assured that applicants who failed the medical examination will be given another chance after receiving the necessary medical treatment.

During a statement to the media, the Military High Command reiterated that five of the six affected families have been given replacements. The remaining family has not yet presented a candidate to take the deceased ward’s place.

The military also clarified that applicants who initially failed medical tests will not be excluded permanently. “All hope is not lost,” a spokesperson said, noting that these individuals will be given another opportunity once they address their medical conditions.

In addition, the military has identified and disqualified some individuals who did not meet eligibility requirements but attempted to progress to the final stage of recruitment.

The High Command also issued a strong warning to the public against paying money to anyone promising to facilitate recruitment, emphasizing that all enlistment processes are strictly handled by authorized personnel.

This exercise comes amid efforts to streamline the recruitment process and ensure fairness, transparency, and safety for all applicants.
