The Member of Parliament for Ayawaso East Constituency, Baba Jamal Mohammed Ahmed has made a statement to underscore the essence of the Eid -Ul Fitr celebration and its importance to peaceful coexistence and national development.
He described the day as the joyful end of a sacred spiritual journey, a time set aside for merrymaking, brotherly love and complete submission to the will of Almighty Allah.
Making the statement on the floor of the House, Hon. Baba Jamal explained that Eid ul-Fitr follows 30 days of fasting ordained for all Muslims, a period marked by self-denial from food and worldly pleasures.
He urged Muslims to show generosity during the celebration and to embrace values such as tolerance, peace and patriotism. He stressed the need for Muslims to serve the nation diligently and act as peacemakers in their communities.
He also reminded both Muslims and all Ghanaians that rights come with responsibilities, encouraging everyone to remain law-abiding in the spirit of Eid ul-Fitr.
