The National Chief Imam of Ghana, Sheikh Dr. Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu, has commended President John Dramani Mahama for fulfilling his promises to the nation, while offering prayers for his continued success and leadership.

Delivering a message to mark the celebration of Eid al-Fitr at the Independence Square on Friday, the revered Islamic cleric expressed gratitude to the President, describing him as a leader who has honoured his commitments to the Ghanaian people.

“My profound thanks go to my own son, John Dramani Mahama… for the fulfillment of all those things that he promised. He has fulfilled them,” the Chief Imam stated.

He offered prayers for the President’s health, strength, and wisdom, asking Allah to grant him continued blessings, honour, and the capacity to deliver on policies aimed at improving the lives of citizens.

The Chief Imam also extended his prayers to government appointees, from the Vice President to officials at the lowest levels, urging them to support the President in achieving national development goals.

“I therefore pray to the Almighty Allah and we are praying for you Your Excellency that whatever intention, policy, steps that you have taken in order to bring benefit to the whole country, I pray that the Almighty Allah grant you the ability and capacity to fulfil them.

“All the appointees may they be a worthy support for the President so that he may succeed. My son, our leader, I am grateful to you,” the National Chief Imam said.

He emphasised the importance of unity among Ghanaians, noting that people of different religious backgrounds share common origins and must live together in peace and harmony.

“There is no conflict. We, as Muslims and followers of the Christian faith and other faiths, all have the same father and mother,” he said.
