Tamale Central Hospital also known as Northern Regional Hospital is engulfed with filth following the withdrawal of services by casual staff over five months of unpaid salaries.

The strike, which is in its fourth day, has begun to take a toll on sanitation at the hospital, with several wards and washrooms left in poor condition, raising concerns among patients and health workers.

The hospital has also been virtually deserted as most of the wards have no single patient on admission

Staff have also began turning away patients.
