A raging fire has completely destroyed the HJZ Timber Processing Company, a Chinese-owned firm located in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality of the Western North Region.
The incident occurred on March 24 at about 12 p.m., leaving the company in ruins and affecting approximately 150 workers.
According to the General Manager, the fire spread rapidly across the facility, destroying machinery, processed timber, and other valuable assets. He disclosed that the company has suffered losses running into millions of cedis.

Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service responded swiftly to the scene and managed to bring the fire under control.

Fire officers at the scene indicated that although the situation has been contained, monitoring is ongoing to prevent any possible re-ignition due to the combustible nature of materials at the site.
A worker who witnessed the incident recounted that the fire started suddenly and escalated quickly, making it difficult to salvage items from the facility.
No casualties have been reported so far.
