Upon arrival at Asisiriwa, Police observed that sections of the road had been blocked with lorry tyres, while two burnt motorbikes were found abandoned.

At the outskirts of the town, two male adults, identified as Peterson Bonsu alias “Low Key,” 23 years, and Kwaku Opoku, 25 years, were found dead with multiple cutlass wounds.

The bodies were conveyed to the Jachie- Pramso Government Hospital Mortuary for preservation and autopsy.

police say a Sprinter bus was also found completely burnt at Brodekwano.

According to preliminary information from the police, the violence stemmed from a dispute involving a young man from Asisiriwa allegedly cohabiting with a young lady from Brodekwano without parental consent.

This led to retaliatory attacks. During the incident, Charles Owusu, father of the young man and owner of the burnt Sprinter bus, was attacked by irate youth at Brodekwano but was rescued by Police after seeking refuge at the palace.

The Ashanti Regional Commander, DCOP Arthur Osei-Akoto, together with his Deputy and other senior officers from the Regional Command, subsequently proceeded to the two communities where they engaged the chiefs, elders, and youth leaders.

The engagement helped de-escalate tensions and further restore calm in the affected communities.

Police presence has since been intensified in both communities, while investigations have commenced to identify and arrest all persons involved.

The Police urged residents to remain calm and cooperate with ongoing investigations as efforts continue to maintain peace and security in the affected communities.
