Over 400 women have benefitted from a special health screening exercise organized by Accra-based Woezor TV as part of the station’s activities marking this year’s Mother’s Day celebrations.

Dubbed the ‘Mother’s Day Treat’, the event attracted traders from Abelemkpe Santana Market and residents in nearby communities such as Alajo and Nii Boi Town who underwent preventive screening for diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, malaria, typhoid, Hepatitis B as well as blood group test, physical examination and counselling.

Women not enrolled on the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) were registered for free while beneficiaries with expired cards were assisted to renew their subscriptions.

Woezor TV, as part of the outreach, also presented souvenirs and gifts in appreciation of the contribution of mothers in raising families and the development of the country.

The event, which took place from 8am to 4pm, was interspersed with music and public education on preventive healthcare.

It was supported by the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), the Ghana Medical Trust Fund, EventPR, Twellium Ghana Ltd, Total House Clinic, the Garnet Medical Centre, A1 Bread and Bakery, C-MatiVents Company Limited and Vision Creative Company Limited.
