Black Stars winger Antoine Semenyo has gained nomination as one of eight players to gun for the Premier League Player of the Season award.

Semenyo was nominated alongside teammate Erling Haaland for the top award.

The winner will be adjudged through voting by fans and a panel.

Fans have been given up to Monday, May 18 to vote for their favourite.

Aside Haaland, Semenyo will face competition from Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes, Brentford’s Igor Thiago, Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White and an Arsenal trio of Gabriel, David Raya and Declan Rice.

Semenyo has racked up 16 goals in 35 Premier League appearances for both AFC Bournemouth and Man City this season.

He was on the scoresheet on Wednesday night as Pep Guardiola’s side saw off Crystal Palace 3-0 to close in on leaders Arsenal.

The Ghanaian was an instant hit at Man City after joining during the winter transfer window, winning the Premier League Player of the Month in February.

“He continued to impress in numerous attacking roles, including on both wings, as a forward and in midfield, slotting seamlessly into Pep Guardiola’s side as they aim to hunt down down Arsenal in the title race,” the Premier League stated on Thursday.
