Mother of the day-old baby who was stolen at the Salaga Government Hospital says she is traumatized, sad and depressed at the thought that her baby girl who has been stolen.

She says her wish is for newborn baby to be found and brought back to her.

“I only saw my baby once and I can’t believe she is missing. Neither the father nor my mother-in-law have seen the baby,” she stated.

“I am traumatized and disappointed at the same time,” she added.

On Wednesday, June 10, 2026, a new born baby reportedly went missing at the Salaga Government Hospital.

According to hospital officials, the newborn baby was placed in a tray at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) where she was kept on oxygen.

Reports also suggest that two staff on duty at the maternity ward comprising a midwife and a NICU staff who were on duty at the time abandoned the baby to attend to some personal issues.

Few minutes later the baby was nowhere to be found after the two went to check on her. The two have since been arrested and processed for court.

Hospital officials have since urged the general public to assist in ongoing police investigations.

The Salaga District Police Command has since commenced investigation into the matter.
