Police say they are investigating the shooting incident at Kwabenya, involving former Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, Sarah Adwoa Safo.

A Sunday, June 21, 2026 statement signed and issued by the Head of Public Affairs for Accra Region, Supt. Juliana Obeng, says preliminary investigations indicate “Adwoa Safo sustained a gunshot injury to her left ear while visiting his late father’s residence at Kwabenya.”

The former Deputy Majority Leader, according to the police statement, reported the matter to the Kwabenya Police where she “presented a vehicle bearing registration number GN 3482-24, which had visible gunshot damage”

She was subsequently issued with a Police Medical Report Form and currently receiving treatment at a hospital.

“The vehicle has been retained for forensic examination, while investigations continue to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and identify all persons involved.”

The matter is being investigated by the Madina Divisional Command of the Ghana Police Service.
