A Snr. Lecturer and the experiential Training Coordinator at the School of Pharmacy, University of Health and Allied Sciences (U HAS), Dr. Jonathan Jato has reminded graduating students that graduation is the beginning of another chapter of life filled with not only opportunities but challenges and responsibilities.
The next stage of their academic ladder according to the Snr. Lecturer is full of opportunities but also highly competitive and that success would not just come solely on certificates acquired, but should be accompanied with character, competence and the willingness to learn.
Dr. Jato was addressing graduating students of a Ho-based Wallas Academy Senior High School at their 13th. Graduation Ceremony in Ho under the theme: “After Senior High School Education, What Next?”.
The Lecturer urged the graduands to always remember that education is a lifelong journey which propels them to continue seeking knowledge to develop new skills ready to fit into the world full of numerous opportunities and challenges.
He noted that the responsibility to achieve goals lies in the students themselves as to how to make it in life and that every effort be made to justify what their parents have invested in them since they expect nothing short of success to give meaning to their responsibility as parents and guardians.
“In all that you are pursuing in life, recognize that perseverance, discipline and unwavering commitment would ultimately lead you to become a positive contributor to the country’s accelerated growth, the Lecturer admonished,” he said.
The Rector of Wallahs Academy Senior High School, Maxwell Yao Affram commended the graduands for exhibiting commitment, determination and discipline during their three years academic exploits in the school and hope such character would be displayed wherever they may find themselves in their everyday endeavors.
He noted that as they step into the next phase of their lives, they should remember that success is not measured solely by academic achievements but by integrity, humility and the willingness to learn and serve others with passion.
The Rector stressed that they should allow the values and principles instilled in them during their studies in Wallahs Academy continue to guide them in their decision-making process.
Mr. Yao Affram urged the graduands to aim high and pursue excellence with courage and confidence as these are tools earmarked for success in all their undertakings as they yearn to become agents of change in their various communities.
He assured parents and guardians that the school would not relent in its efforts to produce products worthy of serving the country, saying that school’s confidence is firmly grounded in their past academic achievement.
According to him, the 2025 WASSCE results were nothing short of remarkable attainment of 100 percent pass rate in several options and a 93 percent pass rate for scores ranging from A1 to C6 across all subjects.
Several of the students according to the Rector achieved distinctions, bringing pride to both parents and teachers as well as the entire school.
The Headmaster of the School, Emmanuel Hallo expressed gratitude to the entire staff of the school, particularly the teaching staff, saying that teaching is one of the noblest professions which is the envy of all other profession.
He stressed that the impact of a dedicated teacher extends far beyond the four corners classroom as they work tirelessly to guide, inspire, mentor students to achieve their dreams of becoming future leaders.
Mr. Hallo used the occasion to encourage the graduands to believe in themselves, set clear goals for their future and to maintain positive moral values as they are stepping out to the world that is filled with uncertainties.
The headmaster noted that technology is part of the modern civilization and therefore inculcate in themselves prudent use of ICT to help bring positive productivity to the country to accelerate development since the youth are confronted with numerous challenges.
The MP for Ho-Central, Edem Kofi Kpotosu encouraged the graduands to accept failure as part of your academic progression, noting that failure propels students well to re-dedicate themselves to their books as they go along in their academic pursuit.
The School Prefect, Osafo Francis Sedinam was full of praise to Management and staff of the Wallahs Academy, noting that they offered them a level playground to contribute effectively towards smooth running of the school.
According to him, under his leadership they championed environmental cleanliness, good students-teacher relation and cooperation with non-teaching staff. This ensured that the school became riot free school to the envy of sister senior high schools in and around the Ho Municipality.
Students and staff who distinguished themselves in the discharge of their work received awards.
