Newly-appointed Head Coach of Asante Kotoko Eric Tinkler has expressed excitement to join the Porcupine Warriors.
The former Bafana Bafana captain was announced as new Head Coach of the Ghana Premier League side on Friday, July 17.
He comes in the back of a relatively poor season with the club finishing 8th in the Ghana Premier League.
Commenting on his appointment, the former Maritzburg United coach said he is looking forward to winning laurels for the club.
“I am honoured and excited to join one of Africa’s most storied football institutions,” he stated.
“Asante Kotoko’s rich history, passion for success and ambition for development is not hidden in Africa.
“I look forward to working with the players, staff, and management to build a team that can compete and win, both at home and on the continental stage.
“I feel proud to be associated with this great club at this historical moment.”
Tinkler is expected to work closely with recently-appointed Director of Football, Stanley Menzo, in making Asante Kotoko a formidable force once again.
