The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has scheduled its national executive elections for Saturday, October 3, 2026, with the party urging aspirants and their supporters to conduct their campaigns in a peaceful and decorous manner.
The party has announced nomination fees of GH¢50,000 for National Chairman aspirants, while candidates seeking the position of Vice Chairman will pay GH¢30,000.
Nomination forms for the General Secretary position will cost GH¢25,000.
Nominations will open on August 17 and close on August 22, 2026.
The NPP has urged all aspirants and their supporters to familiarise themselves with the rules and guidelines governing the electoral process to ensure a smooth and orderly contest.
“We urge every prospective aspirant and stakeholder to take careful notes of these dates. The committee intends to adhere to timetable so that the party can proceed towards the National Delegates Conference in an orderly and predictable manner,” Chairman of the party’s national elections committee, Frederick Opare-Ansah announced.
The party further cautioned candidates and their supporters to maintain decorum throughout the campaign period.

Chairman – GH¢50,000, Vice Chairman – GH¢30,000 General Secretary – GH¢25,000, all other positions – GH¢10,000 and Special Wings (Nasara, Women, and Youth) – GH¢8,000.

The National Executive Elections shall be conducted by the National Elections Committee constituted as follows: Frederick Opare-Ansah – Chairman, Abena Osei Asare – Vice Chair, Madam Oboshie Sai Coffie – Member, Mr. Frank Davies – Member, Anthony Karbo – Member, Salam Ama Mpianimaa Damata – Member, Eric Ntori – Member, Ashanti Regional Chairman – Member and Evans Nimako – Secretary.
The Vetting Committee is composed as follows: Cecilia Abena Dapaah – Chairperson, Papa Owusu-Ankomah – Member, Salifu Saeed – Member, Amb. “A party member or aspirant for National Office who is aggrieved by a decision of the National Vetting Committee may submit a written petition to the National Appeals Committee.
“The National Appeals Committee shall make a determination on the petition within 48 hours.
“Where a petitioner is dissatisfied with the outcome of the Appeals Committee’s decision, he or she may lodge a further appeal with the National Executive Committee, whose decision shall be final and binding.”
