In a statement issued on Thursday, August 13, 2026, the bank said it had taken note of reports concerning an alleged attempted robbery in the Labone area, with reports linking the incident to GCB Bank.
The bank clarified that no robbery or attempted robbery occurred at its Labone branch or anywhere on the bank’s premises.
According to GCB Bank, the branch was never breached and no customer, staff member, funds or bank property was affected.
The bank assured customers that the Labone branch remains secure and that banking operations can continue as normal.
