The re-election campaign of the General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Kodua Frimpong (JFK), has received a major boost in the Ahafo Region, as regional leaders and delegates reiterated their commitment to retain him, describing his leadership as “an investment worth protecting.”
During his campaign tour of the Ahafo Region, the delegates explained that his accessibility, humility and consistent attention to the needs of Ahafo throughout his first term as General Secretary are compelling reasons the Party must maintain him in office.
JFK and his team were received into the region by former Chief Executive Officer of Venture Capital and former NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Asutifi South, Yaw Owusu Brempong, on behalf of the Ahafo Regional Chairman, Robert Sarfo Mensah, on August 18, 2026.
The campaign tour attracted a strong representation of the regional leadership, including Prof. Emmanuel Marfo, First Regional Vice Chairman; Mr. Collins O. Mensah, Second Regional Vice Chairman; Mr. Justice Appiah Antwi, former First Regional Vice Chairman; Mr. Bawa Issifu, Regional Organiser; Mr. Asiedu Alfred, Regional Communications Officer; Mr. Mohammed Mutala, Regional Nasara Organiser; Mrs. Emelia Konadu, Regional Women’s Organiser; Ms. Adwoa Fosu, former Regional Women’s Organiser; and Mr. Eugene Boakye, Regional Treasurer.
Also joining the tour were former parliamentary candidates Frank Aduse Poku and Kobi Amoah Mensah, among other party stalwarts, demonstrating the depth of support accompanying JFK’s engagements with delegates across the region.
Ahafo Regional Chairman, Robert Sarfo Mensah, described JFK not as a visitor to Ahafo, but as “one of us,” citing the General Secretary’s consistent readiness to respond whenever the region called.
He said JFK’s relationship with Ahafo has not been limited to election seasons. His availability and commitment to the region throughout his first term have built a bond of trust that delegates recognise and appreciate.
“JFK is not a visitor to Ahafo; he is one of us. Whenever Ahafo calls, he makes himself available. We have seen his leadership and commitment to this region. He is an investment, and we shall protect that investment.”
The declaration resonated strongly with delegates, who reaffirmed their determination to retain JFK as General Secretary and allow him to consolidate the reforms and structures undertaken under his leadership.
For JFK, the endorsement represents not only a vote of confidence but a responsibility to continue serving with humility, accessibility and purpose.
Responding to the show of support, he expressed gratitude to the regional leadership and delegates, promising to remain focused on strengthening the Party’s structures, deepening unity and working with every region and constituency towards rebuilding a formidable NPP for the 2028 general elections.
Ahafo has spoken. For its delegates, this is about protecting proven leadership, sustaining progress and keeping a General Secretary who has demonstrated that leadership means showing up when the Party and its people call.
