The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has dismissed reports circulating on social media alleging that it has failed to pay the 2025 rent allowance to its personnel.

In a statement, Management of the GNFS described the reports as false and unfounded, clarifying that the final tranche of the full payment of the 2025 rent allowance was effected in April 2026.

On the payment of the 2026 rent allowance, the Service said a committee has been constituted to oversee the process and ensure that the necessary mechanisation is completed soon.

Management further assured personnel of its commitment to addressing issues concerning their welfare, including compensation.

“The Management appreciates the patience of personnel and would like to reassure them of its commitment to addressing all issues of welfare, including compensation,” the statement said.

The GNFS also reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining an open-door policy and ensuring transparency in communicating information to its personnel and the general public.

Management has therefore urged the public and GNFS personnel to disregard the false reports circulating on social media and refrain from further sharing or spreading the misinformation.

The Service said it remains focused on providing accurate and timely information on matters affecting the welfare of its personnel.
