The Ministry of Education has rescheduled the release of the results of the 2026/2027 Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS).
The results, initially scheduled for Monday, August 31, will now be released on Friday, September 4.
According to a press release issued by the Ministry on Sunday, August 30, 2026, the postponement follows requests from parents, guardians, students and Heads of Schools for more time to complete the submission and uploading of students’ data onto the platforms of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) and the CSSPS.
The Ministry says the extension is to ensure all qualified students complete the necessary processes and have their information properly captured for placement into Senior High Schools and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions.
It says available date shows about 20,000 qualified students are yet to have their school choices uploaded onto the CSSPS platform by their Heads of Schools, parents or guardians.
According to the Ministry, the additional days will ensure that outstanding submissions do not prevent eligible students from taking part in the placement exercise.
It has therefore urged all affected stakeholders to use the extended period to submit and upload outstanding information within the revised timeline.
The Ministry says it remains committed to a fair, transparent, efficient and orderly placement process that gives every qualified student the opportunity to secure admission into SHS or TVET institutions.
Initially, BECE candidates were made to select their schools before undertaking their final WAEC examination. However, the Ministry changed things this year, making candidates make a selection after results are released.
