The Koforidua District Court has remanded the seven suspects, including a teacher and six students into police custody for the violent clash between students at Okwapeman Senior High School and Mount Sinai Senior High School.
They are to reappear on Thursday, September 10.
The suspects, three from both schools and a teacher from Mount Sinai have been charged with rioting.
Rioting is deemed as a serious criminal offence related to public disturbance and unlawful assembly under the criminal offences act 1960 Act 29
Earlier this week, a longstanding rivalry between students of Okwapeman Senior High School and Mount Sinai Senior High School escalated into violence.
Several classrooms and ancillary facilities were destroyed, further worsening the already inadequate infrastructure at the two schools.
Okwapeman Senior High School was particularly hard hit during the reprisal attacks.
The incident has renewed concerns over growing indiscipline and hooliganism among some Senior High School students.
Students at both schools have since been directed to leave campus for an early vacation by the Regional Security Council to allow for a cooling off period.
The students have since left their campuses.
The Eastern Regional Police Commander, DCOP Joseph Owusu Bempah, condemned the violence and vowed that all persons found culpable would be made to face the full rigours of the law.
The Eastern Regional Police Public Relations Officer Chief Superintendent Bridget Opoku says their names have come up but they are at large and efforts are underway to find and arrest them,
The Eastern Regional Education Director, Ivy Asantewaa Owusu, also warned that persons involved in the violence will face appropriate GES sanctions. She cautioned students to focus on their primary mandate of studying and to live morally upright and disciplined lives.
